In the world of mixed martial arts, there have been many fighters who have left an unforgettable impression. Though guys have dominated the field most of the time, we have also seen female fighters giving their male counterparts a run for their money with their fantastic fighting skills. Among the well-renowned lady fighters, Cat Zingano ranks among the top performers who previously dominated UFC's women's division. She is now one of the highest-ranking fighters in Bellator.
Zingano's success till now is all because of her hard work, continuous struggle, and strong determination. That being said, we can't leave people, who have always supported her from the sidelines, behind. She received emotional and other support from her loved ones, which assisted in her rise to fame. Here, we are talking about Cat Zingano's parents, Jon Albert and Barbara Albert.
Though the Bellator competitor is a public figure, she enjoys her privacy, and so does her family. As such, Mr. and Mrs. Albert have mainly stayed away from the media. Still, many people must be curious to learn about the Albert couple, for which we are presenting this article.
Jon And Barbara Welcomed Three Kids
Jon and Barbara mainly came into the limelight as Cat Zingano's father and mother. She was born as the youngest child of the couple on July 1, 1982. She has an elder brother named Shawn Albert and an older sister Adrienn Albert. All three Albert siblings grew up in Boulder, Colorado.
While the older Alberts were not athletic, Cat was always into sports. She was carefree, curious, and devoid of caution. For instance, Jon Albert's daughter enjoyed diving off cliffs. She inherited his love of sports and always did everything to make him proud.
Jon wanted a boy jock, and his youngest child was everything he could ask for. She first joined soccer, then volleyball, swimming, and eventually started wrestling. Since there was no girls' wrestling team, the MMA fighter joined the boys' team, which angered her parents, coaches, and other wrestlers. Still, Jon and Barbara Albert's daughter kept on following her passion, and today she is at the top of her game.
What Are Cat Zingano's Parents Involved In?
It is not necessary for children to deliberately follow their parents' line of work. Instead, some pave their own career path and pursue what they are passionate about. Similarly, Jon and Barbara's youngest daughter also pursued combat sports which is different than what they were involved in. In fact, Jon was a general contractor while his wife owned and ran a local daycare. However, many details about the pair's profession are yet to be disclosed.
On the other hand, the Albert couple's little girl, Cat, began wrestling at Fairview High School, which she continued at the University of the Cumberlands and MacMurray College. She later started learning Brazilian jiu-jitsu and represented her home country in many tournaments. She even won a gold medal at the 2010 ADCC North American Championships.
Talking about her MMA career, Jon Albert's daughter competed in renowned promotions like Invicta FC, Strikeforce, Ring of Fire, UFC, and Bellator. She enjoyed a successful run in UFC and headlined multiple pay-per-view events. Likewise, she is doing well in Bellator and has won three matches in the promotion so far.
Looking at her impressive resume, it's no doubt that Cat Zingano's parents must be incredibly proud of her. They likely have attended or watched her every bout.
Barbara Has Passed Away
It is a universal truth that time waits for no one. We all are bound to face inevitable natural phenomena of life, some earlier than others. The former UFC fighter has experienced many tragedies in her life, including losing her beloved mom. Unfortunately, Cat Zingano's mother passed away from brain cancer. At that time, the former was pregnant with her son, Brayden Zingano.
The whole Albert clan must have been heartbroken after losing the matriarch of the family. The Bellator competitor hasn't shared much about her late mom's battle with cancer. Still, she fondly speaks about mama and occasionally shares her pictures on social media.

While her dad prefers to keep a low profile, there is no doubt that he supports and cheers for her. Also, he must be doing well. Overall, we wish Zingano and her family happiness and prosperity.
