Ime Udoka, Boston Celtics NBA head-coach and former player, is currently suspended for the 2022-23 season amid his affair news. ESPN reported that Udoka was found to have a relationship with a female member of the Celtics' team staff.
Celtics Co-owner Wyc Grousbeck updated that the decision of Ime Udoka's suspension came after a proper investigation by an independent law firm. And, Udoka is found to have done multiple violations of team policies.
But the worst news is that Ime Udoka's fiancee Nia Long had no idea of his affair up until a few days before. Long said she was blindsided by her fiance. Let's get into more details!
Udoka Suspended after Having An Affair with the Female Staff Member
The decision of disciplinary action to suspend Udoka for an entire year came after the information that Ime Udoka, head-coach had a relationship with an unnamed married female staff of the team which is a violation of the team policy.
Once the affair news came to light the organsation went into an investigation by hiring an independent law firm. The investigation that concluded on Wednesday reported that the head-coach had other multiple other violations too.
Both Celtics President of basketball operations, Brad Stevens and Owner Grousbeck, gave very few specifics on the violations. They gave a statement on Thursday night that the suspension would end on June 30, 2023, and would come with a significant financial penalty. And only Ime Udoka would be disciplined as a result of the investigation.
Udoka had given a statement apologizing for his action and the consequences it has brought to the team.

Ime Udoka's Fiancee Nia Long was Blindsided about Fiance's Affair
Ime Udoka's Fiancee Nia Long, who is a terrific actress and is known for her works, was really upset when this matter came to light. Moreover, she felt cheated and heartbroken that she was kept in shades about the affair and investigation.
Udoka was already under investigation way back in July, but he still kept his longtime partner under darkness and only let matters reveal when it was certain that the results would be made public.
Nia spoke to TMZ, that the love and support she is receiving from family, friends and community during the difficult time means a lot to her. She also asked that her privacy be respected as she process through all the events. And, she would want to focus on her children.

Nia Long and Ime Udoka's Relationship
Nia Long was in a long relationship with Ime Udoka.
Nia and Ime met and came into news when their mutual friend knew that they were both in Boston area back in 2010. After a year, Nia announced that she was pregnant with Udoka's child. She was 40 at that time.
Her son with Ime, Kez, arrived in November 2011. Nia got engaged with Udoka after he proposed her four years later.
She had been engaged with Udoka for nearly a decade. Nia also has another son Massai, from a previous relationship, with ex Massai Z. Dorsey.

The Friday Actress in 2020 told Essence that she and Udoka were not planning on holding a wedding ceremony. It's not that the couple had any differences. It was because they were comfortable that way. Long herself did not believe that marriage is the ultimate thing to do.
She shared that Love is complicated, so let's just start there. Nia added that she have never been married and there is a reason for that because she don't think she needs to say 'I do' to prove that she loves her partner.
But, never in her dreams she would have thought that the man she loved for nearly a decade was, in fact, cheating on her and keeping her on shades even after his team found out about his affair.

Wyc Grousbeck gave a statement during a news conference Friday morning that he is concerned of the situation and its impact on everybody in the organisation. He hopes this represents the beginning of a new chapter and a chance to turn the page, and move forward with things, to some extent, resolved.'
Stevens on the other hand updated that assistant coach, Joe Mazzulla, would be taking over the position of head-coach.
