Josh Barro Biography - American Journalist

Grew Up In A Loving Household

On March 31, 1983, Jordan Cornette was born to Joel Clifford Cornette and Christi Jenkins Cornette. The journalist was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, alongside his elder brother Joel Cornette and younger brother Jonathan Cornette.

Jordan was raised in a loving and caring home, where his father encouraged and pushed him to achieve his goals and never give up. So it's no surprise that the journalist attributes his success to his father, who he praises for upbringing him correctly and always being there for him when he needed it. Additionally, Jordan also takes great delight in referring to himself as his father's son.

However, his days were not always cheerful, and he eventually had to face a devastating loss that no one could have predicted.

Untimely Death Of Jordan Cornette's Brother

Cornette's elder brother was a former professional basketball player who served as an assistant coach at Butler Bulldogs. Growing up, Jordan was very close to his brother, Joel, and often looked up to him for inspiration. They both grew up with a passion for basketball and spent a lot of time playing the sport as kids.

Unfortunately, on August 16, 2017, Joel passed away from coronary atherosclerosis. Jordan recalls waking up sweaty in the middle of the night with a flood of frantic text messages from friends and family members desperately attempting to reach him. So when he contacted his mother in a rush, and all she said was, "he's gone," the journalist broke down in tears.

It must have been surreal to hear the news of his brother's passing when only 48 hours ago, they were having the time of their lives at Jordan's younger brother Jonathan's bachelor celebration.

The clip below clearly shows how Joel Cornette's family is still mourning his death.

Following his brother's death, Jordan's family started The Joel Cornette Foundation to continue his legacy with the slogan " We are still here." The foundation helps raise the American Heart Associate scholarship funds and encourages people to be educated about heart problems.

Even after five years after his death, the journalist still misses his elder sibling and has even named his son after him in hopes of keeping Joel's memory alive.

We hope that Joel's legacy will live on in the future and that people will remember him for his humble and penitent demeanor.

Educational Background

In 2001, Jordan enrolled in the University of Notre Dame to pursue his Bachelor's degree in English, and in 2005 graduated in it. While in university, he was a member of the men's Basketball team Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Jordan Cornette Net Worth And Career

Jordan Cornette is regarded as one of the most brilliant sportscasters in the industry, having worked in the field for almost a decade. However, the Notre Dame player had no intention of becoming a sports broadcaster in the first place. As mentioned above, he was a basketball player and a perfect one at it, and he originally considered pursuing a career in sports.

Earnings As A Basketball Player

As mentioned above, Jordan had a successful profile and served as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Men's Basketball Team Captain. Throughout his four-year basketball career, Jordan appeared in 126 games and held the program's record for most blocked shots.

Jordan was even eligible for the NBA draft in 2005, but he decided to pursue a career in broadcasting instead. Nonetheless, Jordan Cornette's net worth also includes his earnings from his successful collegiate basketball career.

Earnings As A Journalist

Even though Jordan had never seriously considered pursuing a career in broadcasting news, it had always been in the back of his mind. So, after much deliberation, he opted to pursue broadcasting rather than a professional basketball career.

In 2007, the former basketball player turned journalist began his career as a producer and segment host for the Big Ten Network, where he provided game commentary for Notre Dame. However, after around six years, he left his job to pursue other gigs.

Nevertheless, Jordan must have made a fortune working for the Big Ten Network, having served for such a long tenure.

Nonetheless, the ex-couple parted ways on good terms and is now sharing custody of their son. And even though Cornette's son lives with his biological mother in Florida, he still pays frequent visits to his father.

Jordan frequently posts photos of his son on Instagram, demonstrating that the father-son bond is still going strong. In one of his posts, he stated that his son gave him a sense of purpose and transformed him into a man.
