The cowboy was born in the early 1990s in Baker City, Oregon, USA. Jesse Brown's father, Jim Brown, was a professional saddle bronc rider. His mother, Vicki Brown, also rode barrel horses. Moreover, Jesse's younger sister, Allie Brown, was a barrel racer and breakaway roper. Despite having a rodeo pedigree, the rider initially focused on playing football and basketball, which he revealed as his top two sports.

At Baker High School, the cowboy was a three-year letterwinner in basketball, football, and baseball and was named honorable mention All-State as a junior, First Team All-State as a senior, and has had many other achievements.

Following a standout high school playing career, the Baker City native enrolled at Washington State University, where he played football for three years. However, things were not going as he hoped, so he transferred to Montana State University. There, he became a part of the rodeo team and was a qualifier for the College National Finals Rodeo.
