The singer was born Terrence Lee Glaze on November 29, 1964, in Columbus, Ohio, USA. He moved with his family to Texas later on. Speaking of his parents, Terry Glaze's mother, Judy Gann Glaze, is supportive of him and loves him dearly. Furthermore, his dad was in the Navy.
The musician grew up in Arlington, Texas. He attended Bowie High School. After that, he enrolled at the University of Texas at Arlington. But, his major has not been revealed yet.

Later, Glaze began hanging out with Tommy and Donnie Hart or Donny Hart.
The trio started playing, and in 1981, Bradford and Glaze decided to play harder songs. At the request of Abbott, his little brother Darrell Abbott (Dimebag) joined the band, which consisted of Glaze and Vince. Pantera's lineup was completed with Hart and Bradford.
While Terry was on rhythm guitar, Vinnie was on drums, Darrell on guitar, Tommy on bass, and Donny was the lead vocalist. In 1982, the latter left the band; as a result, the Texas native became the group's lead vocalist. The band became an underground favorite and began earning a critical response. Their debut album, Metal Magic, was released in 1983.
Terry was with the band until 1986, before deciding to leave due to differences in the band's musical direction. While he was with the group, they released three studio albums. After he parted ways from Pantera, Phil Anselmo replaced him. Nevertheless, during his time with the heavy metal band, he must have earned considerably.

After exiting Pantera in the mid-1980s, Glaze joined Jimmy Rusidoff, Kinley "Barney" Wolfe, and Chris Craig and formed Lord Tracy. Three years later, they released the Deaf Godz of Babylon. However, in 1991, the vocalist exited Tracy.
After that, the Bowie High graduate joined with three other musicians and formed Blowphish. It also included Mike Malinin.
