Austin was born on January 24, 2000, to American parents in the south of Dallas in Wilmer. Austin Richardson's father and mother raised him on a farm that has been in the family since 1876. As such, he has always been around horses and cattle and discovered his interest in rodeo riding pretty quickly in such an environment.

Likewise, Austin Richardson's great-grandfather rode with the Hella Temple Black Horse Patrol. He also has a very close relationship with his grandmother Linda Richardson and often thanks his grandparents for their support and credits them for his success. However, not much information has been revealed about his parents.

Riding and racing have always been in the cowboy's family as his sister Kristin Richardson is also a barrel racer. Kristin is also studying at the Northeast Texas Community College and competes in the National Inter-Collegiate Rodeo Association

Moreover, Austin rode sheep when he was a kid and later started doing rodeos in his early teenage years. When he turned 15, he developed an interest in bull riding and got his PBR card at 18. Having started bull riding in his teenage years, he has found his strong ground as he currently pursues a professional career in the dangerous yet rewarding sport. 

In addition, Richardson got his big break at the age of 19 after finishing second in the Velocity Tour standings. He also qualified for the PBR World Finals in Las Vegas, where he was the youngest competitor that season. Earlier, Richardson considered going to Texas A&M University when he was 17 years old. However, he instead chose to focus on his career as a bull rider.

The bull rider won the Ottawa Monster Energy Cup with 120 points and earned $5,112.73 in 2018. Austin then claimed the Grand Forks Chune Out with 39.50 points in 2021. He amassed $7,101 from the event. Moreover, Richardson bagged two more titles in 2022 as he garnered 160 points to win the PBR Wrangler International and 126 points to grab the PBR Express Ranches Invitational

With those two wins in the same year, Austin amassed $44,290 and $43,480, taking his overall wealth to a significant height. Moreover, he was ranked 22nd in the World in the PBR standings at the age of 21, with a dozen top ten finishes. The young bull rider also had a half-dozen top-five finishes then.
